Whoever's reading this I hope you're doing well, but you can call me Alessia. This is my first blog post ever! I've never had a platform of my own where I can share my thoughts and experiences, so I look forward to having fun with this. I'm creating this blog for my AICE Media Studies AS class (highly recommend) exam. We are given the responsibility to document our creative journey and process through our blog as we craft our end-of-the-year project, a two-minute film intro. Whenever I work on a particular project, it usually doesn't take me longer to do than two weeks, but this is an eight-week thing. It seems like a long time to do a singular project, but in reality, it's a test of how well you can manage your time to tell a coherent story. Anywho, you're probably wondering how the title of my blog relates to the purpose of my blog -- spoiler alert: it doesn't. I'm just a really avid houseplant lover/mom. It was a scorching hot day in spring when I first saw my dad take care of a plant in middle school. He came out almost every day to water his little Snake Plant, and I observed. My dad is a weird shopaholic person and sometimes brings home random things, and this was one of them. I most definitely get my shopaholic-ness from him, so I begged him for plants to keep in my room. I didn't ask for several because I wanted more than one, but because they kept dying after one week, so he caved in. I think I've grown to become a better plant mom, but that's a story for another time. I encourage you to come along with me on this creative journey because it's going to be slayful. Or maybe not.
